The Ohio Brook Disposal Story
Ohio Brook Disposal is owned and operated by Shane and Alice Curtis, natives of Pembroke, Maine. Alice’s father, Gary Kinney, started the business in 1990 known as Gary Kinney Waste Disposal. Shane took over the garbage disposal company and changed the name to Ohio Brook Disposal in January 2007, naming it for the brook that runs through the property of its new location in the quiet woods of Pembroke.
Shane and Alice have four children, all of which have assisted in operating the family business from bookkeeping and billing to running trash pickup routes. They are active members in their community, serving in town government, coaching little league baseball, and ministering in their local church.
The company is entirely family-owned and operated today and employs five, local full-time workers. Ohio Brook Disposal’s goal is to provide reliable and affordable trash removal services for Washington County residents and businesses.
